Ridin' Shotgun

	My first ever blog post while in a moving vehicle. We, me and Randell, my neighbor/boss are taking a load of furniture from the Charleston area of South Carolina to an auction house in Columbia. I went with him once before in January and I remembered this big design done in rock, i think, on the side of I-26 right next to an exit for Orangeburg. So i snapped this pic from the truck's passenger seat, through the window while going like 70 or so. It's a cool American flag, the best flag in the world, and huge, too. On the other side of the interstate is the shape of South Carolina and i think a Boy Scout troop emblem. Just the U.S. Flag i wanted. Lame post, huh?

Backyard Campfire

Another backyard campfire. About my third in a week or so. The last time I had one was I think last Saturday night. I started it early that night then enjoyed it as I enjoyed guiding my lovely friend Kathy from Broad Brook, Connecticut to her home in West Babylon, Long Island, New York.

She had just driven from central Ohio to CT and was soooo tired. She only had a few hours sleep the night before which made the day sooo much longer for her. The directions she had from mapquest stunk(!) and were making her cry as she sat in a gas station parking lot with potentially 4 hours to go to get home. All the turns mapquest gave her were too much for her in such a tired state.

But she called me and I guided her home, right down I-91 to 95 to the Throgs Neck Bridge and it was a piece of cake in only about 3 hours time.

Kathy and I grew closer that weekend. She had wanted me to go with her, helping to drive on such a long trip in a short amount of time to rescue a friend in Michigan. Unfortunately I did not get to New York in time but we sure tried for that. The whole last minute thing was quite stressful and worrisome, to say the least. If only Kathy's friend could have help on one more week, I would have gone. What a tremendously great time we would have had.

Still I was with her on the phone almost the whole way there. She did great and I am so proud of her. I may not have been there with her but I was there with her for all those miles. We talked so much. That was so nice. It feels good to be appreciated but I did it for Kathy. What an amazing woman she is!

I just hope and pray she holds me close to her heart as I hold her close to mine.

Way Too Soon!

	Five days before Halloween and what do i spy on the grocery store shelf? EGG NOG??? An odd craving for chocolate milk led me to the discovery. Seriously? Already?? Ok. Couldnt even wait till November. Next year they'll have it ready in September?

Living In Darkness

	Living by candlelight. Tonight is Night #2 of the power being disconnected. Lighting my life is not a special someone but four candles from Dollar General that each cost 75 (hey, there's no cents symbol on here like a regular keyboard. I demand a refund!!!) Anyway... not sure how much longer I'll b living like this. Maybe just tonite plus 2 more. Unfortunately these candles burn kinda fast, wasn't wanting to buy a few more but oh well. Kinda wish i could just go sleep when it gets dark but i ain't timed that way right now. Ah well. Outta here soon. Time to read what Kathy txted me 2 and a half hrs ago. Not good news i am guessing :(
